This build so far has been fantastic, I have focused largely on drivetrain mods as I am not yet ready to violate my warranty.

Nameless
The Nameless Performance 4” muffled catback is one of the most popular exhaust options for the VB WRX, offering a balanced mix of aggressive tone and daily drivability. Built from high-quality stainless steel, this system features a true 3” mandrel-bent design for improved exhaust flow and performance. The 4” muffler variant is specifically designed to reduce drone while still delivering a deep, refined exhaust note—making it ideal for daily drivers who want sound without excessive cabin noise. Compared to muffler deletes or smaller mufflers, this setup provides a deeper tone with less rasp and highway drone, while still opening up nicely under throttle. The 4” double wall tips offer a clean, premium look that fills out the rear bumper well and resists discoloration over time. Overall, this is a go-to choice for WRX owners wanting a high-quality, bolt-on exhaust that enhances sound and aesthetics without sacrificing comfort.
Note: This is such an incredible exhaust, sounds amazing. Drone is minimal as well, even paired with I-pipe.

GrimmSpeed
The GrimmSpeed DRY-CON Panel Filter is a high-flow, reusable drop-in replacement for the factory air filter on the VB WRX. Designed as a direct OEM replacement, it improves airflow while maintaining excellent filtration—without requiring oil like traditional performance filters. This makes it a low-maintenance upgrade that avoids the risk of MAF sensor contamination commonly associated with oiled filters. Unlike full intake systems, the DRY-CON panel filter offers modest performance gains but improves throttle response slightly and enhances turbo induction sound without affecting reliability. It’s a popular first mod for owners looking to stay close to stock while optimizing airflow. The filter is washable and reusable, making it a cost-effective long-term upgrade over disposable paper filters.
Note: Small but noticeable increase in throttle response, also some intake noise if you listen very closely!

Subaru OEM
The STI Group N Pitch Stop Mount is an OEM performance upgrade developed by Subaru Tecnica International to reduce drivetrain movement under acceleration and shifting. Compared to the factory WRX mount, the Group N version uses stiffer rubber bushings, limiting engine pitch (forward/backward movement) during load changes. This results in improved throttle response, more direct power delivery, and noticeably crisper shifts, especially with the 6 speed. It’s a subtle but effective upgrade that enhances drivetrain feel without introducing the harshness of full polyurethane or solid mounts, making it ideal for daily-driven builds. Because it’s an OEM STI part, fitment and reliability are excellent, and it integrates seamlessly with the stock drivetrain setup. Users report the NVH is very minimal and well worth the performance gains.
Note: This mod so far has had one of the largest impacts on my build next to the trans mount, it removes so much slop and sounds very good. Minimal NVH but the NVH that is there sounds awesome.

Perrin
The Perrin Super Shift Stop is a simple yet highly effective upgrade that improves shifter feel by tightening side-to-side (left/right) movement in the WRX’s manual transmission. The factory shift stop has built-in slop, which can make gear engagement—especially 1st and 2nd—feel vague. Perrin’s version replaces it with a precision-machined aluminum piece that creates a more defined and mechanical shift gate. The result is noticeably crisper shifts, reduced play, and improved driver confidence when rowing through gears. It’s one of the most popular low-cost upgrades for the VB WRX and is often paired with a short shifter or shift bushing upgrades for maximum effect. Because it only affects lateral movement, it doesn’t increase shift effort significantly or introduce harshness, making it an excellent daily-friendly mod.
Note: I have had this installed for quite some time, it is an absolute game changer, bit challenging to get perfectly lined up but once you do it is so rewarding. Strongly recommend.

Perrin
The Perrin Clutch Delay Valve Delete is a small but meaningful driver-feel upgrade for manual VB owners who want more natural clutch engagement and less inconsistent slipping behavior from the factory system. It is especially appealing to owners frustrated by stock clutch take-up feel and looking for a sharper, more predictable engagement characteristic.
Note: This makes such a big difference for such little work , 10/10 recommend.

COBB
From the community perspective, the COBB Shift Plate is one of the better driver-feel upgrades for the VB because it changes something you touch every time you drive the car. It is a classic “you feel it more than you see it” part, and it usually appeals to owners who care about mechanical interaction, not just dyno charts.
Note: Much shorter shifts, have it on max reduction, works very well. Had to readjust shift stop after install.
