COBB part 345650 adds ethanol-content measurement to a supported 2022-2025 USDM Subaru WRX. The package includes the ethanol sensor, fuel-line and sensor harness, CAN Gateway and bracket, and vehicle-side harness. The Gateway sends ethanol data over CAN so the ECU can use a compatible Accessport-delivered flex-fuel calibration. This is the base CAN Flex Fuel Upgrade, not one of COBB’s Stage 1 power packages and not the older 2018-2021 WRX kit. COBB currently confirms manual and CVT applications through model year 2025, including the 2024 TR; 2026 support is not listed for this part. Installation routes wiring into the cabin and requires removal of the radio/cockpit control unit. The hardware is not a standalone tune: use the exact COBB map or a professional calibration and supporting fuel-pressure hardware specified for the vehicle.

Can I run E85 or an ethanol blend in a 2022+ WRX?

Not on the stock tune. The VB is not flex fuel from the factory, so ethanol needs a flex fuel sensor and a tune written for it. Done properly it is the best power per dollar on the platform.

The CAN Flex Fuel Upgrade is sensing and communication hardware, not a standalone calibration. It requires an Accessport-delivered flex-fuel calibration, and COBB’s published Stage 1 Flex Fuel map also specifies the CAN Gateway, CAN Fuel Pressure Sensor Kit, Accessport, and high-flow filter. Follow the requirements of the exact map or custom tune.
