Does a tuned or modified WRX need more frequent maintenance?
Yes, but less dramatically than people fear. Shorter oil intervals, plugs treated as a wear item, and actually monitoring the car. Nothing exotic, just more attentive.

Read answerWhat is a normal oil temperature for a 2022+ WRX?
Roughly 200 to 230F in mixed driving is normal. Spirited driving and track sessions push 230 to 260F, and sustained time above that is where an oil cooler starts to earn its place.

Read answerHow warm should my WRX be before I get into boost?
Wait for oil temperature, not coolant. Coolant comes up fast and lies to you; oil takes considerably longer. Drive gently until oil is around 180F, then use the car normally.

Read answerHow often should I change the oil in a stock or tuned 2022+ WRX?
Subaru's guidance is around 6,000 miles or 6 months. Stock and gently driven, follow it. Tuned, tracked, or driven hard, halve it - roughly 3,000 miles is the sensible interval.

Read answerShould I run 0W-20 or 5W-30 oil in my 2022+ WRX?
0W-20 is the factory specification and the right choice for a stock, warranty-covered car. 5W-30 is a defensible choice for a tuned or tracked VB, and notably the same engine is specified for a heavier grade in some other markets.

Read answerHow much power can the stock FA24 engine handle?
The short block is generally considered safe to around 400whp, with real caution beyond 400 to 450. But you will hit the stock turbo around the low 300s and the stock transmission's torque limit well before the engine becomes the problem.

Read answerIs an AOS or catch can worth installing on a stock 2022+ WRX?
A catch can is reasonable long-term insurance on the direct-injected FA24, especially if you plan to keep the car past 100,000 miles. A full AOS is overkill for a stock street car.

Read answerWhat fuel should I run: 91, 93, or can I use 87?
Premium, always. Subaru specifies 91 octane or higher, so 91 is the floor rather than the target. Run 93 if it is available, and never run 87.

Read answerHow should I break in a new VB, and should I change the oil at 1,000 miles?
Follow Subaru's first 1,000 miles guidance - vary speed and load, stay under 4,000 rpm. An early oil change is optional and very common; it is cheap insurance rather than a requirement.
